IIT (BHU) organized its flagship event, Startup Fair under Technex 2016 in association with MCIIE during 4-5 March 2016.

The event was organized with a vision to bring commercial startups, mentors and potential investors all together under one roof. The event witnessed a total of 21 startups putting forward their ideas in front of honourable VCs like Mr. Japan Vyas and Mr. Ganesh Rengaswamy. Eminent mentors such as Mr. Anupam Raghuwanshi (Director, T.I.M.E.), Mr. Sanket Shah (Incube Ventures), Ms. Hufreez Kasad (Incube Ventures), Mr. Gaurav Kedia (Chairman, Indian Biogas Association) and Mr Binod Daga also graced the event.

The event organized over a period of 2 days witnessed presentations by mentors and service providers on the first day. A pre-presentation talk followed where all the teams presented their business models in front of all the mentors and thereby gained valuable expertise from the perspective of marketing, finance, presentation and strategic development.

The second day featured Mr. Japan Vyas as the guest of honour. Idea pitching round was held in two slots, each with a team of 11 participants. A networking lunch was arranged in-between which served as the ideal platform to allow VCs, mentors and participants to interact freely with each other. The day ended on a panel discussion with panelists Mr. Japan Vyas, Prof. P.K.Mishra, Mr. Gaurav Kedia, Mr. Anupam Raghuwanshi, and Mr.Sanket Shah addressing their opinions revolving around the topic “The future of startups in an emerging smart city like Varanasi.”
